Jaffna

This City  located in the peninsular in the northernmost tip of the Island is the Capital city of the Northern Province.. Surrounded by ocean and lagoon it is now regaining its old atmosphere after being ravaged by years of war. Now a destination for many tourists, local and foreign ,several resorts have opened their doors  to satisfy the tourists growing demands. It has pristine untouched beaches and  Its seas and lagoons are plentiful. The local Jaffna cuisine is centered around its delectable sea food. The Jaffna crab curry, and the local brew from the Palmyrah palms are much sought after. It has several  Kovils and religious sites revered by its Hindu population, and its culture dates back to 2000 BC. It has several places of cultural and historical significance particularly the Old Dutch Fort  that is worthwhile visiting.
